I haven’t jumped into the water from a cliff since I was in my teens during a BWCA trip, so the opportunity to cliff jump in the ocean off Aruba was something I couldn’t pass up. My jeep tour through Arikok park made a stop near “Little Aruba” for everyone to go jump. The cliffs weren’t super high by any means – probably only 30 feet or so high – but it was a thrilling experience jumping off into the ocean below. It was so good that after my first jump I quickly swam to shore and headed back up the hill to have a second jump. The feeling of plummeting through the air and landing in the mighty ocean was exhilarating. Swimming through the waves back to shore took more work than I thought, but it made me appreciate the power of nature and the awesome feel of sand beneath your toes when you finally make it to shore.
