I honestly never thought I’d find someone so wonderful so quickly after my last relationship ended. I had dated quite extensively last winter, but didn’t expect that my latest solo period in life would come to an end after just a few months.
Nikki and I first connected on Tinder on January 1st. Our conversation almost ended there when I accidentally gave her my cell number with one digit off. If her friend Mary hadn’t encouraged her to reach back out to me, our relationship may have ended right there. We got together in person for the first time at Starbucks for a coffee date on January 24th. Three wonderful hours that were filled with great conversation passed by quickly. I could tell that Nikki was someone special and I was determined to get to know her better.
We had our first dinner date about a week later. I was so enamored with her that after our dinner date I proceeded to tell her the things about me that she might not like. I knew that I liked her and I didn’t want to waste my time if she wasn’t going to like who I was. When she told me that I was basically a male version of her, I knew we were going to make a great match.
We went out a few times each week over the next few months and got to know each other better. I surprised her when I asked her if she’d go to Greece with me. The trip was planned for less than four months after our first meeting. She thought I was crazy for asking her so early into our dating relationship, but I knew traveling together would be a great test of our relationship. And it was.
The past eight months have been some of the most memorable in my life. I’m so in love with her that I can’t express it fully. The feeling of being with someone who not only supports you, but accepts, encourages, and does the little things for you is downright amazing. I’m so grateful for the opportunity I have to share my life with someone who is so special. Love you, babe.
